Events and Experiences

Promise Land Pastures leverages its 124 acres of pastures and farm facilities as a transformative event venue. While we host a variety of events, we specialize in a few unique offerings that leave a lasting impact. These are: “Shepherd’s Walk  Experience,” Men’s firewood breakfast, and Ministry egg carton painting parties.

The Shepherd's Walk Experience

The Shepherd’s Walk Experience is a leadership and team-building activity that we offer various groups in the setting of a real sheep farm. Since launching the “Shepherd’s Walk,” we have welcomed leadership teams from Churches,  public school groups, and team leaders from several local Chic-Fil-A stores for this distinctive farm-based team-building experience. The event begins with a collaborative hearty breakfast prepared over a campfire, followed by engaging activities including riddles, a hidden treasure hunt, and teamwork exercises, all designed to impart lasting leadership and life lessons for participants–all while engaging in actual farm activities with real, pastures, tractors, gardens, chickens, and of coarse, SHEEP!

Men's Firewood Ministry Breakfast

Promise Land Pastures hosts a vibrant monthly Men’s Breakfast during the cooler months, fostering camaraderie and fun. Together, we cook farm-fresh eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, potatoes, and onions over an outdoor campfire. This time of fellowship sparks uplifting conversations that strengthen and encourage participants in their faith. Open to men’s groups from various local churches, these gatherings typically draw about 20 men. After breakfast and fellowship, we dive into action, using chainsaws, log splitters, mauls, and tractors to prepare firewood for those in need. Each year, we’ve expanded these events, increasing the firewood we provide. Last year, we donated 30 pickup truck loads to help keep people warm through the winter, all while enjoying the process!

Kid's Egg Carton Painting Events

At Promise Land Pastures, one of our most important products is our pasture-raised, non-GMO-fed eggs. With the generous backing of Mechanicsville Christian Center, we donate over 15,000 farm-fresh eggs each year to nourish our community. Most of these eggs are delivered every other week by our dedicated home delivery drivers to elderly shut-ins and people with disabilities through our food pantry program. We also host a recurring event where local children visit the farm for an egg carton painting party. This activity allows kids to contribute to the community while enjoying a memorable farm experience. Provided with egg cartons and art supplies, the children are simply asked to paint designs that will bring joy to the elderly shut-ins receiving the eggs as a gift.
