We met Helen Graham at the ROC cookout which was held at the Ruthville gym complex in March. Promise land was teaming up with the ROC crew as part of the volunteer prayer team. We introduced ourselves to Mrs. Helen and spent some time talking to her about her life, and needs. We discovered that she had been widowed since 2016, she was a cancer survivor, and she was quite a prayer warrior. We spent some time praying together for one another, and we asked her if there’s anything specific we could pray with her about. One of the things she mentioned was that she had been praying for help with her leaking roof. We felt the Spirit of the Lord, stirring us to see if there was something that Promise Land Pastures could do to help out in this area. God really answered Miss Helen‘s prayers and our own as we sought to serve her. Many individuals and churches in the county stepped up to donate and volunteer. All of the materials were covered and a team from four different churches came together over the Easter weekend and not only completely replaced Mrs. Helen‘s roof, we were also able to clean up her whole yard. Thanks to Bubba Smalley and the First Simple  Church rapid response team. Thank you to everyone who gave and volunteered. Mrs. Helen was greatly blessed, the team was drawn together in unity, and God was glorified in the community!
