As a community transformation laboratory, Promise Land Farm is constantly developing innovations in appropriate technology. We seek to design new structures, tools, techniques, and procedures that could make a small farm more efficient and profitable. Sometimes this means a new innovative animal housing unit. It could also be interior fixtures for production and processing. Or perhaps it is an innovative tiny dwelling or studio space. Whenever we see an opportunity to improve on a area of activity by creating something, we go into research and design mode, and Just about every time we build something new, we use 3D modeling to build it “virtually” first. This gives us the ability to see how the components fit together, build materials lists and price out the project. We are excited about including students and interns in this design process and training them to be proficient in 3D modeling as a valuable addition to their creativity tool kit.
